Control Reliability (Functional Safety)

A key aspect of our training includes a complete explanation of control reliability, and functional safety (“interlocks”, safety devices, etc.).  In the United States, these concepts are essential in fulfilling OSHA’s “Minor Servicing Exception” for Lockout/Tagout.  In addition to U.S. machine safety standards, we summarize and compare these with International (“ISO”) standards and CE marking for machinery.  All of this is brought together in Machine Safety Risk Assessments, which are explained and demonstrated in the class.

Up-to-date Machine Safety Training

OSHA machine guarding regulations are nearly 50 years old and have simply not kept up with today’s highly automated machinery. This can be confusing, as to comply with OSHA’s general requirements, you must apply technology and safety standards that are not clearly described within the OSHA standards.  Our live instructor training and e-Learning course explains the details and nuances you need to be successful and compliant in today’s highly automated manufacturing environment.

OSHA Compliance Guidance and Training

All too often, organizations don’t adhere to OSHA’s guidelines until it’s too late – “too late” meaning they’re being sued by an employee because of a workplace-related injury due to negligence or they’re receiving a fine on behalf of OSHA because of improper safety precautions. Some of these regulations and standards may seem trivial and meticulous, but they’re created with a purpose: to keep people safe. Allow the experts at Machine Safety Specialists to properly train your staff on all things machine safety and prevent you from having to pay for negligence in the future.
